[Interview] Oluwafemi Adeniba, Director, Kosiberu Koncepts, Nigeria

Oluwafemi Adeniba is a director at Kosiberu Koncepts, Nigeria. ABC brings this interview with him:

Would you please introduce Kosiberu Koncepts?

Kosiberu Koncepts Limited is a holding company for other businesses with interests in strategic marketing communications, agriculture and telecommunications. We are a member of the Zimbabwe-Nigeria Chamber of Commerce.

In which industries does your company operate?

We serve SMEs, agro-allied and the FMCG industries. These sectors also represent our client-base.

How does Kosiberu Koncepts remain competitive in a fast-changing global marketplace?

We remain competitive by leveraging on the vast resources available on the Internet thus delivering quality and affordable solutions to our clients.

What can be done by entrepreneurs and government to stimulate the business environment in Nigeria?

The government needs to engage startups in the formulation of policy blueprint, leveraging on the challenges of the startups in providing a sustainable business environment, as there exists a design flaw in the policy blueprint of government for businesses. As those blueprints are mainly designed for/by big businesses and credibility-potentiated entrepreneurs (CPE) who have never run a business; they’ve never started one from scratch. They don’t know what it takes to build a dream on N100 or $1.

A CPE could be described as a typical banker who resigns from paid-employment after so many years to start a business. He is very much used to the idea of writing a business plan, has vetted business plans his entire professional career and knows about management.

What can you say about the targets, plans and ambitions of Kosiberu Koncepts for 2015?

Our companies’ targets are to fulfill our promises to our clients in the most sustainable way.

Our ambition is to empower minimum 500 unemployed youths with online marketable skills by the end of the year.

Do you believe Social Media and the Internet to be a plus to the business environment, as it applies to your industry?

I absolutely believe Social Media and the Internet to be a plus to the business environment, and very much so in my industry. It enhances the development and delivery of solutions in a sustainable way. The direct access to customers the social media provides is invaluable.

What expectations do you have for Nigeria´s economy in 2015?

My expectations this year is to see the newly elected government plug every financial-waste-outlet, make misappropriation of public funds very unattractive to public office holders and fix the generation and distribution of energy within the first 100-days in office.

Which African countries will perform best in 2015?

I´m going with Bloomberg´s analysis for the year, citing Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa, in that order.
