Foremost African financial institution; Guaranty Trust Bank plc reaffirmed its position as a leading global brand with the recognition of its subsidiary Bank in Sierra Leone for the 2015 Excellence & Leadership Awards organized by the Global Trade Leaders´ Club in Madrid, Spain at the Hotel Melia Gottila on Saturday, July 06, 2015.
The Global Trade Leaders Club is an association of leading businesses, which gathers more than 7500 members from 95 different countries across the world. The main objective of the association is to promote trade exchanges and human relationships amongst business men and women from all over the world with key focus on Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as well as international organizations.
According to Mr. Ricardo Roso Lopez, the club's General Secretary and Managing Director, “our aim is to establish a friendly exchange of services between participating companies, and to promote the idea that commercial relations go hand in hand with human relations. He further stated that GTBank is the proud recipient of this year’s award because of its unique position as a clear leader in the financial industry. According to him, this award is given in due recognition of the Bank’s contribution to the economic development of the Sierra Leonean economy.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Bank, Gbenga Alade, Managing Director/CEO of GTBank (Sierra Leone) said "we are happy to receive this award” and attributed the bank’s achievements to the hard work and commitment of its employees as well as the enduring loyalty of its customers. According to the MD/CEO “we are committed to building an enduring institution with strong values and sound corporate governance standards which will ensure that we continue to deliver over and above the expectations of all stakeholders.” He further stated that being the first bank in Sierra Leone to be honored with this prestigious award is an affirmation of the bank’s long standing commitment to the growth of the nation’s economy.
