KAA Host Stakeholder Briefing on Unlocking Multi Million Business opportunities in Kisumu City

Kenya Airports Authority has today held a media stakeholder conference at Kisumu Airport to empower and engage stakeholders to take up massive business opportunities available at the KSH. 3billion state-of-the-art facility.

Speaking at the occasion, KAA Ag. Managing Director, Mr. Yatich Kangugo said that opportunities at the Airport are now available in the following areas; offices, flying schools, hungers, freight terminals and related financial services and industries among others.
 
Mr. Kangugo, was accompanied by the Kisumu Airport Manager, Mr. Joseph Okumu and key investors among them the CEO of Best Western, Mr. Kaushik Manek whose group is putting up the first ever multi million international branded hotel at the lakeside city. He also accompanied by Mr. Samuel Ochola, the CEO of Sky One Flying School. It is envisioned that once the business opportunities are fully unlocked, Kisumu International Airport will generate an estimated 40,000 jobs directly, and another 400,000 indirectly.

KAA considers Kisumu International Airport a key facility in its aviation system. The current terminal was completed in February 2012, and is currently in the process of strengthening the newly constructed the 3.3 Kilometer long runway for wide bodied aircrafts (Code D). Last year Kisumu International Airport handled a massive 345,000 passengers and that this growth is on a robust growth path. It currently handles over 20 landing and takeoffs on daily.
