Mwana Africa appoints two managing directors to Chamber of Mines

Mwana Africa has appointed Toindepi Muganyi, Managing Director of the Freda Rebecca Gold Mine, as President of the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe.

In addition, Batirai Manhando, Managing Director of Mwana’s Trojan Nickel Mine was appointed First Vice President. The appointments were made at the Annual General Meeting held in Victoria Falls on 21 May 2015.

The Chamber of Mines serves to advance the interests of the mining industry in Zimbabwe, through promotion of development and growth strategies consistent with high international standards of health, safety and environmental consciousness, and to positively influence the local, business, environment in order to attain the objectives of the mining industry.

Kalaa Mpinga, Chief Executive Officer of Mwana Africa, commented:“We would like to thank the Chamber of Mines for appointing Toi and Batirai to these prominent and influential positions. It’s a great honour for them to be recognised by their peers in this way, and it clearly demonstrates the faith that the government of Zimbabwe and the mining industry as a whole have in our mining operations and in the proven track records of these very experienced Directors.”
